A 12-minute esports desk warm-up before ranked or scrims

Arrive at the first serious round awake, comfortable and ready to communicate.

Preparation should reveal readiness without creating fatigue.

A warm-up should prepare attention and movement without consuming the energy needed for practice. This 12-minute esports desk routine is a performance checklist, not medical treatment. Stop if an exercise causes pain and seek qualified advice for recurring discomfort.

Minutes 0–3: setup and comfort

Check chair, screen, mouse space and cable movement. Use gentle hand opening, shoulder movement and breathing rather than forceful stretching. Confirm water and remove avoidable desk distractions.

Minutes 3–7: visual and input calibration

Alternate focus between near and distant objects, then perform slow cursor paths and clean key sequences. Accuracy matters more than speed. The purpose is to notice unusual tension or equipment behaviour.

Minutes 7–12: game-specific activation

Use a short drill with familiar targets, then one communication repetition with teammates. End while execution is improving, not after it declines.

On travel days, connect the routine to our recovery plan. For team learning, follow it with the review meeting agenda. A good warm-up makes readiness visible without becoming a second practice session.

Editorial note

General preparation guidance; not medical advice.
